Shipping Tips

What can and can't MNC ship?
MNC Courier is primarily a small parcel or “LTL” courier (Less than Load). This means small parcels, freight on skids or envelopes. We do not handle bulk dry goods or livestock.

Shipping regulations to be aware of?
It is the responsibility of the shipper to ensure that they have the proper documentation completed to ship their parcel. If you are unsure just ask.

How does MNC prefer to pick up heavy items? On a pallet?
When it comes to large or heavy shipments it's simple...”you get it on, they get it off and we'll get it where it's going”

Does MNC provide packaging assistance? Are packaging material available upon request?
MNC does not sell or provide shipping supplies, but we can direct you where to go and how to package your shipments.

Tips on what day something should be shipped if it is required to arrive in a certain time frame.
Anything received in Brandon will be delivered the following day before 5pm (within our service area)

Any other tips that help insure an items arrives on time in good condition?

Proper Address
This cannot be stressed enough. If you can't find SW34-32-34 there is a good chance our driver can't either. “Box numbers” are postal, owned by the postal service and they WILL NOT accept freight that isn't Canada Post.

Phone Number
If you forget to put a proper address on it, this is the first thing we look for. With a phone number we can call for directions or get special instructions in the event the person isn't home.

Package the parcel as if your shipping fine crystal.
A rule of thumb we use in the shipping business is “A properly packaged parcel should be able to survive a 36inch free fall” or waist height.”

Keep it simple.
We do provide services such as C.O.D, Collect, Chain of Signatures, etc at an extra charge. Just keep in mind that every extra step added is a potential delay. The receiver may not have money, may not have certified cheques, etc and we cannot release a shipment until YOU are satisfied.
